Plug the USB lead into a power bank and slip it into the inside pocket. Press and hold the button until the ring lights up. Tap to move between the three levels, and hold again to switch off.

One size: about 59 × 31.5 in (150 × 80 cm), worn over the shoulders like a cape, with a full-length front zip.
Outside: fine waffle knit. Inside: soft grey plush lining. The heating sits in the back and shoulder panel.

Unplug the lead first. Spot clean, or hand wash gently in cool water with mild soap. Lay flat to dry completely before plugging it in again. Do not machine wash, tumble dry, iron or dry clean.

You'll need a USB power bank (5 V, 2 A) or a USB wall plug. It isn't in the box, so have one ready.

Plug in the USB lead and slip it into the inside pocket.

Hold until the ring lights up. Tap to change the level.

3. Zip it from the hem
Close the zip from the bottom up so it stays in place.

4. Get on with your evening
Read, type or sip with both hands free.
Warmth across your shoulders and upper back
The heating sits in the back and shoulder panel, where the chill sets in when you sit still. Your arms and front stay cosy under the knit and plush lining. For the warmest setting, use a 5 V, 2 A power bank; a weaker one runs cooler.
